Identity

Last week room 11 had to write down about what identity means to us,
Identity to me means describing yourself and showing who you are. When I think of identity I think of my family, culture and my religion and what I believe in.

I believe you should be proud of who you are and be proud of your culture.

I am a proud Samoan and I work hard at school, I am the second youngest of three elder kids

Spaghetti and Marshmallow Tower

On Friday Room 11 made spaghetti and marshmallow towers, The people in my group was Hope,Ani and I first we tried to make a base so my group made a square so after we finished making the base other groups started to copy us so we tried to make some more spaghetti's under the square so it could balance while we were looking at the other groups we noticed that ours were the shortest.
Then once the timer was up Miss Tupou came around the tables and measured how tall our towers were. Our tower was 5cm so we lost but we still had lots of fun.

What I Learnt About Treaty Of Waitangi

I learnt that the European people tried to steal New Zealand, All together there were nine copies of the treaty. The treaty was written in English and Maori, The treaty of waitangi was a contract between the Maori and English. The treaty was signed on the 6th on February,1840 at the bay of islands.
There was a Reenactment of the treaty that aired in the 70's. The treaty occurred because the British came to NZ and took over their land. On the day, 530-540 Maori people were there and 40 chiefs attended the treaty, and 13 women signed as well. The relevance for us is it's part of NZ history, and kids can learn why the treaty of waitangi occurred.
